No Regen in a few years?

    2013 72k miles
I have owned the truck for almost 4 years and I think my truck has only Regen’d like 2 times. About a 30 min commute each day to work on the highway, trips outta town occasionally. Only add Def like once every 3 months. Thoughts?

If your having to add def then your truck is doing a Regen. If it wasn’t your truck will go into limp mode and your dash would light up like a Christmas tree.

But the 2 times I witnessed a Regen the truck literally displayed that it was goin into Regen and to continue driving truck. Am I wrong about the Regen notification. I had them in the beginning bit not any more.

    You Regen all the time.

Probably once every ~800 give or take.

There are 2 types of Regens, the normal ones that happen all the time (you will get no message) and then one when the DPF gets full (you will get a message for this one).

I've only had 1 DPF full Regen in 56K miles but I get the regular Regens (based on differential pressure across the DPF) about every ~900 miles.

I have a monitor PID setup in the toque pro app where I can see it.

You will only get that message if your DPF is about 90% full. Most the time it Regens without giving you the message.

Thanks for the information, I always wondered about that. Now I don’t have to worry about Regeneration or DEF period.

    .
x2. Sometimes you can hear the DEF injector ticking if you're outside the truck and it's idling.
