Remember when I said the CP4.2 was noisy as ****.
This is the noise I’m talking about. I may be wrong on it being the pump. But I’m pretty confident that’s what it is.
2021 3500 Mega HO DRW
Well if it is, maybe the damn thing is starting to beat itself to death...
I have always heard the buzzing noise of the cp4.2, but that noise originates from the front of the engine. This noise originates from the top rear of the engine, and it's a sounds like it has a direct correlation to engine rpm not the pump rpm.
Does it go away above a certain RPM? Mine rattles like crazy at idle but around 1400rpm it stops
Mine STARTS to rattle at 1400 rpm... Sounds really like a valvetrain knock.
Hmmmm. Are you in Regen by chance
Nop, that was the first thing I looked at.
Here's a video of what it sounds like when cold. Notice there is no weird noises.
Got a phone call today, and they told me the noise was normal...
Anyone else with a 2019 have this noise?
Hard to tell from listening to the computer but that sounds an awful lot like valve train noise.
Loose rocker arm, lifter issue something like that.
