    Solid mass flywheel conversion kits

Anybody here with a manual tranny make the swap to a solid mass flywheel?

    What are your experiences?

I had a solid already in my 03 when I had to replace my clutch but I have no complaints, single disc nv5600

i swapped a smf into my G56 earlier this year with a dual disc clutch. Its pretty noisy below 1500 RPM especially in 4th and 5th. Haven't tried any different fluids yet tho. Other than that its fine.

Dayum. I thought them dually discs were supposed to be the answer to that gear rollover noise.

I don't think it really matters what clutch you go with as far as gear rollover. The flywheel is what makes it happen. I've been told that something like a mobil delvac 50 gear oil will eliminate 80-90% of it.

You cant go wrong with south bend or valair as long as you get the street/quiet one.

I ran a fluid damper on a 12 valve and 07 5.9 with dual disc clutches that weren’t the newer diaphragm street clutches.

It helped smooth out the idle and quite then down a touch.

They still make a good bit of noise no matter what.
