Randy makes an excellent valve body.
A lot of builders do.
Randy's, DRT, RevMax, etc.
Do your homework, call around, and find a builder you trust.
They all use similar components.
You should look for:
- Flat sanded valve body case
- RevMax or DNJ billet channel plate (both are proprietary designs)
- Sonnax billet accumulator pistons
- Sonnax accumulator plate w/ additional screws. Some builders drill & tap for the 3 extra screws, some leave them out.
- Transgo HD2 low/reverse switch valve
- Sonnax or Transgo Solenoid Switch Valve (SSV). This is important. The Sonnax valve is oversized, so the entire bore is reamed and corrected. The Transgo valve fits the stock bore, but the end plug is oversized to prevent leakage.
- Separator plate: there are arguments for, and against, using a bonded/coated plate. Some builders say the coating can delaminate and flake off, sending pieces through your valve body and transmission.
- Solenoid pack. Optional on some, included with some.
- Deep pan: some valvebodies won't work with a stock pan, and even some aftermarket pans must be modified to fit.
