You know after listening to it as loud as I can get the volume up (to many sirens blasting over the years) it almost sounds like the shaft in the turbo is off balanced or something is loose under the truck. Have you tried taking the air tube off and wiggle the blade shaft to see if there is any play? I’m not an expert on this but you are right, something doesn’t sound right after listening to it 100 times. LOL

The sound is always there, you should don't hear it with the stock exhaust. But once you open it all up, and add custom tuning to the mix, this sound becomes apparent.
If memory serves me correct, I believe that the VGT snaps closed on shut down, so what you're hearing is basically the exhaust brake for a split second before the motor stops putting out exhaust.

That makes sense but he is stating this just started recently. I have never heard that type of noise coming from my truck on shut down and I have no muffler and keep the EB on at all times.
It does sound like something is “off wobble” the last second if that makes any sense?

    Arguably so.

But as I mentioned, my 4th gen did this and I never gave it 2 thoughts.

I can confidently say that I would not worry about it.

The vet theory makes sense. I think I'm going to go with that.

Something could be off wobble to!
