    MM3 Initial Tuning: Battery Life.

    Hey Guys,

When the first initial flash is being done to your truck with the MM3, what is recommended in precaution?

Simple things like having the radio off, air off, touch screen blank are what I've been told.

I was going to get my batteries load tested the day before as well just to make sure they are healthy and maintaining a good voltage.

I would be petrified if during the install process I see the screen go black and my ecm get bricked.

Take er for a drive before tuning.

This will charge the batteries and prevent the grid heater from kicking on while loading the tune.

Ensuring a full battery charge is a wise precaution, but it ain’t that bad.

Just leave everything off while ya do it.

Flashin the ecm takes about 15-20 mins.

Thank you for the advice! Would I be able to keep a charger/maintainer on one of the batteries while its loading up the tune as well? Even if its not needed I like to live by the philosophy "ain't no kill like overkill"

    Yes you can!

The first time I installed my MM3 tuning I left the battery charger hooked up the whole time.

Probably wasn't necessary but it made me feel better.
