    When?

I’ve got a new 18’ 2500 CTD I got in September and I’ve put close to 3k miles on it.

I’m trying to find out at what mileage I need to pm the differentials at. I’ve got about 2000 solo and about 1000 towing my 7k TT.

I’ve only had it in 4wd a couple of times for very short periods.

I’ve got a plan for the first engine pm but don’t have any idea about the diffs.

Open to any and all suggestions.

    Thanks

I thought I might need to change it sooner to get the initial swarf out and then do the longer schedule.

You can swap fluids as frequently as you desire, the chart here just indicates the manufacturer requires intervals. However, there's not really any reason to flush the differentials ahead of schedule unless, as stated, you discover leaks or submerge the entire axle.

    Re: When?

I guess I’ll let it ride then.

It cost so much to pm these rigs so I’ve been buying a little along.

I’ve got all the tools gathered up and I’m getting the rest of it.

    Thanks again.

Maintenance cost really isn't that terrible, you just do a lot of it at one time so it appears more expensive, but over the long term its not that bad.
Depending on your mileage per year, you'll probably do 1 oil change/fuel filter swap per year and diff service every 1.5-2 years

    Re: When?

    You are right.

If I spread the cost out buying filters and fluids over time it’s not bad.

I have a Silverado also (gas burner) and it takes me a year to get 3500 miles on it.
