    DEF Gauge Reused

Has anyone used the def gauge for some other type readout once deleted?

I am thinking of adding an onboard compressor and using the def gauge as the air tank percentage.

    Any ideas or comments?

    Thanks,
    Clatter

This has been discussed, at lengths, many times.

While the idea is a great one, and in theory is possible, re-configuring the CANBUS system is where the problem lies.

A good programmer can do it.

I could tweak anything in the older can bus system.

Apparently noone has figured out how to do it.

I wanted to use that DEF gauge for the water for a meth/water injection system.

FIll the DEF tank with water but everyone told me it cant be done.

The problem with that idea is its all one big circuit board, You couldnt put something in that space without destroying the board

What purpose would that serve? It would still be a big circuit board behind it you couldnt do anything with? OR am I misunderstanding?

Just wonderin if it can be done. Im sure somebody somewhere along the way once said “what the hell is this def gauge still there for when I dont need it no more”

So I guess that board wouldnt come out with the panel?

No several people including me have looked at it.

There is no way that I can see to get inside of the speedometer and gauge area the way its design.

Its just a small computer so the cluster is all one unit.

No way to separate anything in that cluster.

It was just a question of somebody ever figuring a way to reprogram the engine computer and/or the body computer to utilize that gauge in a new way once you have a delete tune.

So far all the tuner guys have said they can't do it.
