UPDATE FIRMWARE PROBLEMS

Im working w/ Dirk @ the support email. so when i went too install the update a few months ago on the tuner the little computer chip was red and would let me download it. So after about an hour of running back and forth to the laptop to re try the download ( wasnt sure it took) is finally went thru turner finally started to updated. Then it stopped downloading for some unknown reason. So after all that ( and watching Rays vid on it) i got it to work. went to bed came out the next day no screen. Tapped the screen to come on it started to do its thing. then screen said something cant remember. got to work unplugged it for a few hours. plugged it in when leaving work all was fine. so about 1-2 weeks later did it again , and again. roughly a dozen times to now. and most recently locking the doors and starting the truck out of know where. now i can start the truck walk out put my key in the ignition and it will go off instead of stay running. i got the tuner in Oct of 2017. never a problem till i installed the update. I'm going to delete everything try to update it 1st then re-install my files. ( glad i keep that email)

Did you plug your MM3 into your computer via USB cable and attempt to pass-thru the update to the SD card?

I'm going to go and have the battery's tested somewhere. maybe my voltmeter is no good.

It is old but for a low voltage to cause your remote start to work is crazy.

It is old but for a low voltage to cause your remote start to work is crazy.

If you attempted to flash the truck with less than 12.4v, that 100% explains why you're having issues. It's always recommended to have a battery charger hooked up (or flash following a decent drive) to ensure that you have the appropriate amount of power.

have you ever heard of low voltage causing a truck to remote start its self?

Your truck runs and operates by taking commands from a computer (ECM). If you corrupt the computer by installing the tuning with low voltage or attempt to install the tunes incorrectly by hooking up the MM3 to your laptop instead of writing to the SD card directly then the truck is going to do crazy things.

OK not to self.

When testing your batteries start the truck and check CCA's.

That being said I did replace 1 battery, but the problem is still there.

So pissed truck is only 2-1/2 yrs old.

Last truck was 6 not one problem.

Usually if one is bad they both are.

Did you check the other battery?

When replacing batteries you need to replace both of them even if one is only bad.

The other battery will put a strain on your new one.

Check to see if there is still a warranty on your batteries since the truck is only 2 1/2 years old.
