    CAT Fuel Filter?

Has anyone ran the CAT Fuel Filter setup with the front canister delete?

    Re: CAT Fuel Filter?

I run the Cat fuel filer with a Baldwin water separator.

    This kit:

Even with this setup there is no way I would remove the front filter. The way I see it, the more filtration the better.

This kit will allow you to extend your change interval if you choose but even this is a stretch.

    Install was a breeze!

    Cheers

I have the kit but I hear rumors of the cat filter gauling the base

I also have the Cat/Baldwin water sep set up - agree with CMB - NOT remove factory fuel filter - I have about 15000 miles on mine - not changed yet - I monitor lift pump pressure ( FASS 90) and have not noticed much change to date. runs 13 to 16 psig

@Call90. What's the logic behind removing the front filter? Do you know something we don't??

Even with the secondary filter im still running the nanonet unit up front.

@Capt543 can you elaborate on this gauling?

    Re: CAT Fuel Filter?

I've been told that since the cat filter being all aluminum threads.

That is will cause gauling on the base threads and almost weld itself on.

In turn pulling the threads off the filter base when removed.

    Idk how true it is.

    I haven't changed mine yet.

Interesting, I haven't changed mine either. Maybe just a touch of oil on the threads as a preventative.
