    Post Overheating

    Hello

What could cause the truck to overheat then cool back down and then run fine?

I have replaced water pump, thermostat, temperature sensor and turbo (went out).

Pulled the head and it shows no cracks while using magnaflux.

I had a reputable shop check the head as well and they show no signs of the head being bad.

So what is the next step to look for? Heater core is not leaking.

Welcome friend! A little info on your truck would help.

If the head is flat and the block is flat and the fan clutch is working, my guess would be either injectors are leaking, turbo is partly clogged, DPF is partly clogged or you need to clean out the fins in the radiator.

Does it overheat only when towing or driving freeway? How long before it overheats from a cold start?
