Yep, make sure tank is close to empty or its a nightmare to get it up and down. Or juat take bed off its like 6 or 8 bolts or so.

The bed may be easier, I always have 8 bolts on hand in case I just grind the heads off and replace them.

Ok so update. I filled my main tank all the way.... Accidentally over filled it. Like 2 day later the gauge started working again. Was saying I had a steady 3/4 tank. Worked the whole day not its back to nothing haha. I think it must be that unit

Yea well after my truck gets fixed i might just replace the fuel sending unit

check all your wiring first. a loose wire is fixable If you spend the $$ on a fuel sending unit and still have the problem you will wish you started with wiring.
