    Truck revs up by itself when shifted into R or D

    hello so i've com across a new problem with my truck. At start up everything is normal but when you shift it into drive or reverse the engine idles up by itself. now this may not seem to bad but let me tell you i can barely keep the truck from driving away with two feet on the brakes has anybody had this problem 2005 2500 rebuilt motor, freshened up trans, edge evolution, billet flexplate, triple lock converter, 4"exhaust intake, aluminum rad, gauges, trans cooler the list goes on for addons but nothing that could cause this please help i've had to park it again

    I thought you died. LOL I came close

    I have to think about this one. It's overcompensating fro some reason. I'll see if I can stay awake long enough to take a deeper look. I'll consult the manual or my secret weapon.


    2003- 3500 RWD Automatic.
    S & B intake, BD Intercooler, Pusher Air Horn, MM3 Double R Tuning, Turbo Timer, electric Flex-a-lite fans, FASS 95,
    50 HP tips, upgrade to 351 turbo, 3.42 gears, Twin air compressors, air bags, Remote dual oil filters, Hellwig sway bar, Front Winch. Home made Fuel Heater, BD Exhaust brake with Torque Lock. Tons of TLC

    Run a data log if you can and see if for some reason your truck is commanding torque converter lock up when this happens.

    I think you'd find the truck would stall. I can stall my truck with my BD torque lock if I don't have the truck in tow mode. If it's not, than he's tearing up his intermediate drum. Technically that shouldn't slip at all.

    If I can stall my truck, I have zero slippage. That's a good thing.

    Full lock should stall the motor, but a partial lock up and/or cross leak could cause what he's experiencing. Dealt with this on an older Mazda car I had years ago, did exactly what OP is asking about.

    Good point. I'm spoiled I guess. LOL I keep my shtuff in top working order. They guy who gets this truck is a lucky SOB.
