    Mismatched Tread Depth?

I have 35x12.5r20 Toyo Open Country muds and need to replace the front passenger one. I have a used exact same tire from a previous set that has slightly more tread than the front driver tire. They are fairly similar in depth, but one still has slightly more depth. Can I use this spare one to replace the passenger side or do I absolutely NEED to replace both in the front? Or should I replace and move the slightly different depth pair to the back? Ram 2500

I'd maybe put the wonky ones in back and they will probably even out over time.

I just rotated mine, and the front were very uneven (out of alignment or something). They seem better suited for the rear until they get junked.

It's funny you say that, my left is wearing evenly and the right is substantially less and clearly misaligned...

Oh I definitely am.. we're just in the process of a home sale so not trying to spend any more than I need to.

Plus that first tire is pretty scary looking, so figured I'd clear that spare from the garage and save a few bucks for a month or two.

Yeah definitely move them to the rear.

That right tire looks to be beyond specs.

Just be careful in the rain.

I am sure it is, but this is the spare I have sitting in the garage...

I'll get this put on and move fronts to the back... thanks!

Just spoke to a guy at a tire shop, one of those older guys who has been doing it forever, and he said it's normal tread like that. He said alignment issues are from the inside of the tire to the middle, and from the middle to the outside is normal cupping because of turning. He said I didn't rotate my tires frequently enough... which is true.
