    4 or 5" pipe???

So some guy is suppose to come pick my transfer tank for 900$. This means I'm buying stacks. Only question is 4 or 5 inch pipe. 5" is an extra 55$. Does it only help sound? Or does it help with air flow. Pretty sure my downpipe is 4" but I'll change that later. Help!'
