G56 shifting noise

Hey y’all, I have a 2018 with a G56 everything is stock.

I get a clunking sound when I let the clutch out almost like there is to much free play in the trans (mostly when up shifting).

Could this be the dual mass flywheel making the noise or to much free play in the trans?

I did bring the truck back to the dealer and they said “it’s normal for a G56, we get a lot of complaints about it”.

Is there any truth to what the dealer said?

I don’t get that clunk with my G56.

Now I do get a little rattle in the gear shiftier when I have it in 5th gear but it’s been like that since 0.7 miles when I bought it new.

Any more info on the rattle in 5th gear?

My truck doing the same thing.

No issues with it in general, just find it odd that only does it in 5th gear.

Isn’t fifth gear direct and the rest of the gear train is just hanging out rattling since it’s not loaded?
