    Soot Under The Hood

I was taking a peek under my hood today and I noticed that i had some soot built up on what looks like a coolant line by my EGR

Is this something I should worry about, I couldn’t find where it was coming from.

Make sure it don't leak when the valve is shut and wire it shut.

That parts is expensive. I am in the process of trying to repair the same leak.

What would be leaking around there?

    Leaking EGR Cooler Bypass Valve.

Just another reason to delete and remove.

Soot leaks past the bypass valve shaft. Can also cause laggy boost if enough. It is a poor design and costs way too much to replace.

I’ll take a closer look tonight, hopefully once I do the delete later this week it won’t do it anymore. If it does I guess I will just wind up removing it all.
