    Squeeze every gallon...

    IMG_20190910_192546.jpg

Who here is in the 700 mile per tank club?
I had a lot of twisty hilly back roads , slogging along in 2nd or 3rd.. ( I need a tighter converter!) On this last tank...
I'm hoping to be in the 800 club soon!
Took 35.5 gal to top off.. 20.8mpg...
Not bad for a beat up ¼ mil mile beater!

Not bad! I gave up my quest for 20+ mpgs when I went 35" tires. Congrats to you though!

Can you not get 20+? I'm on 35s and in the mountains and can get 20+ on highway runs.

I can get close to 20 if 100% highway driving and keep it at 70 or below. For comparison, my truck has 3.73 gears and a live front axle which doesn't help.

I just got 245 miles out of not quite a 1/4 tank. Around 500 on 1/2 a tank. Eyeball, that's around 26 to 28 which I have clocked twice before in the hills. This trip took me to the jersey flats. I too have compensated for the tires and gears.

Greg. . . Did I embarrass you into a new picture? LOL

    2003- 3500 RWD Automatic.

Haha, nope. It's just been that long since I logged into the forum from my PC. That pic was sooooo old so decided I should put up a recent one.

Your fuel mileage is awesome. I have been driving a ton of highway miles lately (4 trips from Greensboro to Charlotte, about 200 miles round trip each) and 19.x is as good as it gets. The stop and go traffic for the 10 miles in and out of downtown Charlotte kills any ground I make on the 180 miles of open road. I'd still rather drive my truck over anything else.

I dont envy you driving in Charlotte. I spent enough of my time down there working construction in and around the Charlotte area. I'll happily stay an hour north of there

Yeah, it's a pain but I'll take driving there when needed over relocating and being in that mess full time.

My 4th gen was all over 630-650 on the highway. This 5th gen struggles to break 500 in stock form & daily driving, my average is about 430

A tune will fix that though
