I change mine based on the evic request. It is normally about 5k. Used oil analysis has been great, but I haven't tried extending. On my old 98 I went 12k with UOA for security. Where does the 15k come from?

I change mine once a year or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first.

After I change the oil I reset the evic and it counts down from 15k and it’s in the owners manual for a 2013

No way your truck should be telling you to change oil every 5k miles, total waste especially since you're deleted. 15k comes from the owners manual.

I just looked back at my records to make sure I wasn't lying about it, LOL. Between 5 and 6k every time. I will reset the message next time and send a sample at 10k to see what it is doing. Thanks.

You should do far more than 15k. Drop an oil sample in then decide. Heck, on my 'older' truck with a bypass filter, samples said I was good at 80k, but I changed it anyway. You should be way cleaner.

I retract my advice - due to I'm not deleted.

But If I was - I would still run the same oil & filter as I am now...

Possibly keeping a 1yr OCI - like Watersupply! ---------> But this all depends on my amount of Miles driven/Idle time/Driving habits/Driving Style - along with the advice of the OLM... (Adjust Accordingly)
I honestly feel the OLM system within the 4th gen & later is pretty complex & trust worthy to follow - from what I have read...

But Most defiantly: Take a UOA sample at least every other year to justify your length of OCI is Ideal...
