Thread: Banks Monster Ram Intake

    Banks Monster Ram Intake

I plan on purchasing the Banks Monster Ram Intake for my 2018 Ram 2500 G56. Does anyone have any complaints about it? I watched the Banks video and it seems very well engineered. My one question is, do I need a retune from DRD after I get the intake installed?

You don’t need to be retuned- if you are looking to clean up you’re engine bay then go for it or any other aftermarket.

Anything other than stock is overkill and won’t really provide any power gains until you are pushing serious power.

My opinion is banks made the video so why wouldn’t his be the best?

I have the 3.5". I got it to get rid of the throttle valve. I still have my grid heater on my truck as Michigan winters get a little too cold to delete. Like @TexNeck said, it really didn't give me any power gain and I did not need a retune from DRD. It did clean up the engine compartment.

Over the years I have fallen victim to his false claims. Since I have NOT endorsed anything they claim. I found it to be BS. @Dude's Diesel Performance and @DRD have a product I did a bunch of beta testing for on my 08. It's from Shibby Engineering. One of the big magazines did a flow test on several different makers. Shibby was the top of the performers. Talk to Clayton or Ray. I sent you.

Anyone who has to bash the competition to get sales speaks volumes about themselves. I steer clear of anything banks for this reason, i see through the BS.

I love the “muffler shop” reference LOL- I am not a fan of how those look personally but they look better than a capped stock one to me! GDP are real nice. I have a Rudy’s diesel which is similar to H&S I need to install. Not my fav but got a deal

I've seen much advertisements on how great Banks is and you can get up to ??? horse power.

Well I tried their programer on a prior truck, had it installed professionally. My daughter was moving and I knew I was going to get stuck in using my truck & trailer for several trips, so I tried it out. I loaded my trailer where the loads were close to the same weight, drove the same highways at about the same time everyday. It was from California to Nevada so the weather was about the same each day, hot and dry. Tried a different level of power each round trip and took hand cal mileage.

Zero (0) is part of the up to ??? horse power increase they advertise.

I'm thankful I was never able to afford his products!

I believe his performance products are of the highest quality.
My problem is with the final #'s - That (Banks) claims!

I honestly would like to witness in person - dyno runs with his performance products installed.

I'm not much of a follower of the He said - She said crowd!
