    45HP Economy Tune

    2018 ram 3500 6.7, MM3 45Hp Economy, 4” Turbo back, EGR delete.
My question is, what makes an economy tune?

I’ve recently deleted the truck and during my drive today I noticed my truck likes to operate around 1500-1700rpm at about 50kmH/30mph, 110km/70mph 1500rpm.

Would you consider this normal for an Econ tune?

Felt very torquey I thought I was in tow/haul.

Your opinion and tips would be appreciated, thank you.

That all sounds normal to me.

'Economy tune' is just a name given by the person that wrote the tune or possibly the label for that HP setting option in the tuning device itself. I personally get my best MPGs on a 120HP tune and use 30 or 60 tune for towing.

The RPMs at any given speed are dictated by hard parts like trans gear selected, axle gears and tire size.

Tuning only affects how quickly you reach the desired RPM/speed.

That's the torquey feeling you were getting.

Also the torquey feeling is from having the factory torque/power management removed with the tuning. So you’re getting all the torque/power at once vs gradually.
