    Re: G56 questions

I just installed the Valair Street Dual disk (650hp, nonquiet version) and like it so far.

It is not the organic version, so it is grabbier but still manageable in traffic.

I towed about 10k with it as well, and no issues there.

Everything looked to be of high quality in the box, and everything was installed efficiently and as should.

I was on the fence between Valair and Southbend, and every Cummins owner I talked to beforehand (NV4500, NV5600, or G56) said Valair, hands down.

Also..... Starting to get a whine while accelerating through the gears, almost sounds like fan in high speed nothing terrible at all. No grinds shifts great. New fluid. Is this due to my clutch on the end of her life x2, thanks for anything y'all!

I got rollover noise after swapping in a South bend clutch, single disc, the one rated for 900 ft-lbs.

The lack of a dual mass flywheel will give you more noise, but you may have a bearing going.

If its direct gear, 1:1 no noise, could be a bearing, when loads goes through countershaft, they push themselves apart and sideload bearings.

I also converted my fluid from Mopar ATF+ to Red Line GL4 75-90 gear MTL, same as Mercedes uses in these transmissions, much quieter. Some say to overfill them a bit too helps even more.
