    Deleted and Exhaust Brake

Recently deleted with DRD MM3 and FLO~PRO 5” turbo back.

So far very happy but have had a few bumps along the road.

So as of now I have just over 100 miles since the delete and I am fairly confident that I should be good to go as far as the tranny relearn.

So over the weekend I made my first attempt driving with the exhaust brake on. I have faithfully driven with tow haul and exhaust brake since I’ve gotten my truck. In any case, running the exhaust brake, it has always kinda sounded and acted like the truck was down shifting for lack of better terms.

Now since being deleted the engine sounds the same but the exhaust sounds something like a turbine winding down. Is this normal?

I guess its just not what I was expecting. I guess I was expecting it to sound like it was down shifting from the exhaust also.

I found only one video on YouTube so far and that’s exactly what it sounded like. Like the truck was down shifting. I just want to know that there is nothing wrong.

This is my first diesel so I’m not sure what to be expecting.

    Thanks in advance

It’s really cool when you let off the gas next to a building or wall...enjoy it!

    100% normal.

It's a great way to announce to tailgaters that they're about to have a bad day too.

Can you post a video? Cause the EB in this video sounds like a turbine winding down to me, so I'm not really sure what you mean if yours doesn't sound like this.

Not to worry as that is the sound of freedom. You opened up your exhaust a ton compared to stock. Enjoy your truck breathing better!

Wait until you put it into high idle in the winter time, sounds like a jet airplane when warming up

I will try and get some video tonight. Mine just doesn’t have the deep throaty rumble like that. Not sure if the tuning has anything to do with it or not. I’m running 5” flo pro turbo back with no muffler and the stock sound tune.
