MPG on first road trip with 37s and 4.10 gears

If anyone was curious about the MPG/37s/gears topic......

I installed 4.10 gears a while ago and had 35s.

Just got 37s and took a 850 mile road trip. I would say about 200 of the miles we're city or stop and go traffic (fricken L.A.).

The trucks MPGs said 19.4....hand calculated was 19.3.

I never hand calculated when I had 35s...but if I had to simply guess, if I took the same trip with the 35s, I am thinking I would have gotten a MPG more or so.

On the free way I was pretty much on cruise control at 70...I was also unloaded.

I went with federal couragia...pretty much the cheapest tire with a good load index and no issues when it comes to bad reviews.

I didn't want to get some expensive nitos or toyos when I wasn't sure if I would even want to stick with the 37s.

I kept the 35s....I will run those when I will be the trailer, which I won't be until next camping season.

They are actually not a bad tire. Only dislike i had was they were pretty loud when i had them and a little rough when slowing down. Other then that they did great! Glad your happy my friend.

First impressions....I like them - especially for the price.

They do howl a little on the freeway....but not too bad, nothing different than mud tires in general.
