Another thing to mention.. On these Cummins.. The p0868 isn't "low line pressure". It's "governor pressure sensor voltage too high".

The low line pressure is a general definition of this code.

But actual code readers for the Cummins goes further and isolates it more.

My apologies, I had it backwards from the 68 vs 48. Sounds like a wiring short, good luck.

    No worries.

I'll post the solution if and when I figure it out.

Re: P0868 governor pressure sensor voltage too high

**UPDATE** New transducer seems to have fixed it.

I've driven it all day, going into overdrive multiple times, and unlike before, where it instantly threw my truck into limp mode.

It has performed flawlessly. So 1 of 2 things happened. Either I was correct, and installing a new transducer on the original TCC OD harness, which theoretically, if it was the problem.

Shorted out the new transducer. And even after putting in a new TCC OD harness I was then using a shorted out transducer. Or the original transducer went out, and the one I bought to replace it was junk straight out of the box.

I technically don't know, but since there are only 3 electrical components in the trans.

My lesson learned is just replace them all. You're already in there and it's truly not that expensive.

I spent less than $170 for all 3 parts.

There is a video on YouTube showing how to replace the TCC OD harness without removing the valve body.

    Totally helped.

I just went through this with a p0871 similar code same results. Might be solenoid pack, might be valve body. Dealer warrantied my whole trans. Mine was fine empty, after the parts you changed, but as soon as I put a loaded trailer on I got codes and limp mode again.

I've heard replacing the valve body fixes that 0871 code.

Mine was definitely more electrical than hard parts wear.

Which I understand is what that code represents.

Bores wearing out allowing pressure bleeding.

You think they'd make these valve body's out of something harder. I need to start a company that makes them in titanium.

Cost a bunch up front.. But for enthusiasts, reliability would no longer be an issue.

Titanium, high material cost, not easy to machine, so high machining cost.

Stainless, cheaper than titanium, and machines relatively easily with the right feed and speed.

316 stainless, cuts like a hot knife through butter and would probably work well.

any way we can get a link to these parts and that youtube video? mine seems to be having the same issue. but cheapest I've found the parts is about 275. Thank you!
mine is throwing 3 codes P0712, P0868, P2769. but when I start up it runs fine, when I go to drive and go to give it some fuel it hesitates and almost dies. once it gets going its fine, I just don't have overdrive. if I clear the codes it seems to be ok until around 55 mph then when I go to start again it does its thing. has to be electrical because it was absolutely fine the day before, just started it up after it sat for 24 hours while I was at work and it started this
