    Cheetah egt issues

    Getting aggravated.

Installed a fleece cheetah turbo on my 14.

Since then. I have had high EGTs. Had my tuning redone. Helped some.

Tow a 9K lbs trailer and at 70mph and %60 throttle I see EGTs go past 1360 before I backed out of it.

Tuner guy said to have actuator re-calibrated. Such BS cause it should have been calibrated when I got it from fleece.

So now I’m in shop again spending more money to have actuator recalibrated in hopes that it works.

Checked for leaks. No leaks intake or exhaust side. Needless so say I am pissed at this point.

This turbo supposed to run cooler and has done nothing but cost me u expected money that I don’t have at this point.

    Such BS.

Let us know who tuned it as that may be the issue.

I have sold quite a few of their turbos with no issues to date. Not to say that the one you received just happened to be the unlucky one.

Also, have you contacted Fleece to let them know about what is happening? If it has happened before I'm sure they know about it and may be able to help lead you in the right direction.

    Double R Diesel.

I have ran his tunes for about 250k miles with stock turbo and they were flawless.

I have talked to Fleece and of course blame the truck.

I’ll be making more calls tomorrow.

I just hooked a trailer that weighs 7900 lbs and towing it from Indiana to Utah.

So I have some rolling hills and I’ll see if recalibrating the actuator helped any with towing.

Didn’t change a thing when empty.

Calibrating the actuator will help with the temps big time.

We have seen this before with a Fleece Turbo.

    Well that didn’t work.

Pulling a 7500 pound trailer now across Illinois where it is flag at 70 miles an hour I cannot get my EGT’s under 1100 this turbo is junk as far as I’m concerned totally false advertising and I am getting royally pissed I have no more money to put into it.

Hate to hear your having issues- what size turbo is it?

Have you ever considered water/meth to help cool things down?

    Re: Cheetah egt issues

OK. Well I’m very frustrated with this turbo.

It pulls good. But EGTS are way to high.

There are times I can’t get it under 1100 on flat ground 70MPH with %40 throttle.

    I tried everything.

Several recording to analyze. Several tuning adjustments.

Re-calibrated actuator. Leak test, even out in new EGT probe kit from the tuner to the probe all new and still hot.

Makes no sense at all. Fleece said this turbo is great for towing and will run cooler!!

My truck never saw over 1150 degrees even pulling 14k lbs over the Rockies.

Now I can see 1300 with just truck on a hill with %40 throttle.

I’m so damn pissed I can’t even say. I feel like I literally threw $4500 out the door on **** products!!!

    Avoid Fleece!!
