Amp Research Steps & Double R Diesel Tunes

Hey guys, I just tuned my truck with a Double R Diesel Tune witch plugs into the OBD connector. However that’s where my Amp steps were plugged into.

I know Ray at Double R Diesel says not to use an OBD SPLITTER for the tuner and the steps because there would be some kind of interference.

So my question is where did you guys move your AMP steps trigger wires to.

Several guys have had good luck running the OBD splitter so you might want to try it before going through the trouble. Just make sure you are directly plugged in when installing or updating tunes.

Otherwise, AMP sells a hard wire kit that comes with instructions. Exactly where you tap wires depends on the year of your truck.

Mine are hardwired on so no OBD needed
