    Do I Need To Delete My CCV?

    I don't know if it is possible but I would say worst case scenario would be that crankcase vent system getting completely stopped up. This would cause there to be excess pressure in the crankcase which could lead to blowing out oil seals or more likely blowing your dipstick out of the tube a little and the crankcase would vent itself from there. Might also get some excess oil dumped into the turbo which would lead to some smoking and maybe some oil leaking down where the turbo is attached to the air intake.

    Agreed also when the CCV filter is saturated the excess crankcase oil and condensation is being pushed through the turbo and inter cooler to your fresh air intake manifold and grid heater.

    Bob - Absolutely correct on this.

    Oil in the intake system is no beuno as it reduces the ability of the intercooler to transfer heat.

    I know there are different opinions on what's best (leave the filter and change it frequently or do away with it altogether), but I personally didn't want the chance of any oil getting into the intake system.

    I decided to remove the CCV filter and gut the housing.

    I blocked off the hole to the turbo and ran a black heater hose from the valve cover to a race-style catch can with a filter.

    I've had it this way for a few years and have had no problems.

    I am getting ready to delete my CCV as well.
