Thread: Codes (Some Permanent) Prior to EGR/DPF Delete and MM3 DRD Tuning

Codes (Some Permanent) Prior to EGR/DPF Delete and MM3 DRD Tuning

So I purchased an EGR and DPF delete with turbo back exhaust w/ muffler and the DRD MM3 tuner package yesterday and had a few questions on the codes.

I have 4 permanent codes stored and one that keeps popping up every time I try to clear them (particulate filter accumulation). My exhaust filter is "100%" full and won't Regen, hence the new purchases.

    Time to delete all this.

    Background:
Bone stock (minus the 35s) 2014 Ram 2500 CCSB 4x4 with 68RFE and 103k miles on it. The NOx sensor has been popping up and going away for a while now.

My main question is do I need to find a way to remove all of these codes before I connect my MM3 tuner to the truck?

Or will the tuner itself be able to delete these pending and temporary DTCs?

I'm hoping to get this knocked out soon once everything comes in.

    Thanks

    --Alex

Oh and I need to use my truck this weekend (by use i mean hooking up a gooseneck and picking up another truck and driving 3.5 hours home).

Since I keep getting the "100% filer full" message and it won't Regen itself, will I hurt anything by driving it this weekend?

Will it go into limp mode eventually?

I just made a 8 hour drive in it with the message flashing the entire time hoping it would Regen itself, but it never did.

I'm assuming because i had the CEL on while trying to Regen and it wasn't having any of that.

The tuner itself should rid your truck of these codes.

The tuner will take care of the codes.

    Perfect.

That's what I assumed, but wanted to check. I read it on the internet (so it had to be true, LOL) that they needed to be deleted prior to connecting the tuner.

    Thanks Ray.

Ca't wait to get everything in and get the truck the way it should have been from the get go.

Any thoughts on towing with it while the 100% message is displayed and my CEL is on?

Well your DPF may be near clogging up, so I would not recommend going very far with the truck in that shape. It likely may go into limp mode quickly.

Mr. Ray's options will definitely get your truck where it needs to be.

Safe, reliable tuning is hard to come by now a days along with customer support.

DRD has it all and we highly recommend them.

Re: Codes (Some Permanent) Prior to EGR/DPF Delete and MM3 DRD Tuning

I'm going to go ahead and ask my dumb questions here instead of starting another thread:

    1. My MM3 tuner comes in Saturday, as well as my exhaust system. As Ray states in his videos, I will install the tuner first, then take off the exhaust. My EGR delete kit is a week or so out. Can I simply unplug the EGR and run the truck like that for a week or two? Will the truck run and drive fine with the tuner installed and the DPF system still connected?

    2. I read i should unplug the throttle body valve. Any issues with this? I don't plan on any other mods other than the exhaust and EGR delete.

    3. CCV delete. Is this a good mod to do?

subbed for this info as well. My EGR delete kit is going to arrive a week after my exhaust and Tuner.
