MAP Sensor Inspection

I deleted my truck two months ago after running stock for 47,000 miles and 5 years.

Yesterday I decided to inspect and clean my MAP Sensor.

Thought I would share these before and after pictures.

As you can see the EGR system took its toll. Just another reminder of the destructive results of pumping exhaust into the intake.

Pretty dirty! Did you notice any difference in your truck after cleaning it?

Dumb question....do you just use some sort of connector spray cleaner to clean sensors? Simple as that?

Didn’t notice any difference after cleaning but I am assuming it was just a matter of time before it threw a trouble code or worse. This is the product I used to clean it.

Just some more information I found on the web about cleaning the MAP Sensor. Should not be an issue once EGR is deactivated or removed.

I believe you only see these results if you shake the can first and have the Aisin transmission!
