First oil change

I have 1300 miles on my truck. I have the oil and filter on the way for the first oil change. What's the recommended mileage for the first oil change? The dealership left out my owners manual so it's on the way too. I figured the earlier the better over 1k miles but I don't want to shortchange the break in oil if it takes longer.

I try to do all first changes by 1k miles.

Buy fuel from high volume stations, fuel treatment if you want, drive & enjoy.

P.S. You’ll be fine if you don’t do any early first oil change but to me it’s cheap insurance to remove the metal particles.

I did my first OCI @ 1200 miles as well as my rearend fluid after our first towing adventure.

Rearend got a drain & refill with: Triax Synergy Gear Max 75W-90.
Next spring a PML cover will be added for much easier - mess free service -->Drain Plug!

After this - the rearend will receive a service every 30-40K miles.
(Since the summers will be busy towing The family RV).

The 68RFE will receive (The Most Attention) & receive a PML cover as well w/Drain Plug & receive drain & refill every 25K miles / filters changed every 50-55K miles.
(The spin on filter will be a Royal Purple) - (Wix XP filters will be used after the 4 RP are used).

(Triax Global Synthetic ATF) is already flowing through her 68RFE & will continue to be used.

Transfer Case will be first drained & refilled @ 25K miles w/Global Synthetic ATF as well & every 50K miles there after.

Front differential: First drain & refill @ 35K miles & every 50K miles there after with Triax Gear Max 75W-90.

Power Steering Reservoir: Sucked out & refilled before every summer (May) w/Triax Global Synthetic ATF as well.
Takes about 15 min.

All these services might be a bit premature: But I feel since this is my Last Truck - I deserve that right to perform them early & more often then your Normal owner!

I pride myself on NOT being that Normal Guy!
