Exclamation DPF replacement question - Technical help needed

    All,
My 2016 Ram 2500 threw the dreaded "Exhaust Service Required See Dealer" message on the dash, along with two DPF related DTC's. I took it to the dealer and they want $3200 to replace the DPF and Differential Pressure Sensor. No thanks! I am looking to keep it all stock, so I am in the process of having the DPF thermally cleaned locally for $250.

Question: Once I reinstall the cleaned DPF filter, do I have to perform any relearns or reset the ash count in any way? Or is it simply reinstall and go down the road. I am hearing multiple local answers from non -cummins people, so hopping to hear from some Cummins techs on the subject!

    Thanks!

I am not a cummins tech however, if you go to youtube you can see these issues and perhaps get some insight into this. If nothing else learn alot about DEF systems. DEF is not just cummins, it is across the diesel industry.

I have 139,000 on the truck.

I had the FCA fail recently, and I think that might have contributed to the issue.

Reading through the service manual, a rich condition and clog the filter.

It is at the shop being cleaned today, so we will see if a cleaning service fixes the issue, when I reinstall tomorrow.

I am also going to replace the differential pressure sensor at the same time.
