    Tailgate brake light bar

So when I bought my truck it already had one installed and worked fine as it should. Well one night I was walking to my truck from the back and noticed the leds were faintly glowing, so I ran the truck and got out and they were still on so I cut the power wire that was wired into the trailer harness. Drove the truck home 40 min that night and the next day put a male and female end on it so I could plug the power wire up and still did the same thing they were barley glowing, so I unplugged it wrapped each one with electrical tape kinda forgot about it. Well about a week ago I just plugged it back up out of curiosity and it works fine now has anyone else had this problem with one, if I drove it everyday I wouldn’t worry about it but I don’t so I don’t want it to run the batteries dead. 2016 2500

Is it making good ground contact? That could be your issue or else the bar itself has a short in it.

It seems to have a good ground but they used those splicing clips or whatever and it may have a short I was just curious if anyone else had this problem with one I wish I knew the brand of it
