Bought the truck recently and am not a diesel specialist, but am well versed in gas motors. Quick learner and excited to experience the diesel world.
Here is what I am challenged with. In the front of the motor, behind the grill it sounds like a tapping sounds. More like a hammer hitting metal. I've done some research and they say it could be coming from my CP pump. There is a video out there and it does sounds like that but I am unsure where to start. Who knows, it may be worse than this. It has mass amounts of power and seems to run great!
I live around the Dallas area and am looking for a shop/ technician, not a parts chaser/replacer, who is well versed in the Cummins world. I did take it to the Dodge garage for factory recalls and he had the technician look at it quickly. He thought it was coming from the front of the motor as well, possible from the front cam area. I am not opposed to driving to have an "expert" help me understand what I am dealing with.
Thanks in advance and hopefully it will be a less expensive fix versus buckets of money.
