New member and finally back to a cummins

    Hello all,

This isin't my first rodeo with the good ole' cummins. I currently have a 94 12v sitting in the building with way way way too much done to it, for those of you who have been around for a while, it is a Steve Truax truck, but i blew a head gasket... ended up buying a duramax dually for towing and keeping the 12v for a "toy". Well 5 more years later and the duramax decided that the lb7 injectors were done and i couldn't justify putting more back in it. So off it went and I purchased a 2015 ram 3500 laramie, aisin, 3.73, dually. I LOVE the truck, I haven't had it long at all. But i got the dreaded NOX sensor code the other day. Well my reasearch has gone into overdrive leading me here. I priced the two sensors to fix this and had a little heart failure when they quoted me the price, telling me i had to replace both sensors to make it work right. I was ok with doing the rear which is setting the code, but the front, well, that is just ridiculous for a sensor. So now I am looking at the delete option. That lead me here.

I would love to know your thoughts and suggestions on deleting. I tow with this truck, usually its either a toy hauler 5th wheel loaded should be around 17-18k or a 30' gooseneck for farm stuff, max weight would be somewhere in the range of 26k lbs on that trailer (that is rare we haul that much, but sometimes it is necessary) I am not looking to go overboard (hence the 12v) but just deleting and getting rid of all that stuff, and using my truck normally. Not looking for huge hp, don't need to black out the hwy, or the neighboring state, ( i got a 12v for that if i want to), just a solid dependable tow vehicle that i can get in and go. I don't want to have to monitor egt ever second of the day, and press buttons for this, and switch for that. just put in drive and go. I also don't want to straight pipe, want to keep a muffler. Don't get me wrong, i love the sound, but when you decide to pull a full Griswald vacation with the 5'er on a 10hr or so ride, id like to keep it quiet (happy wife, happy life)

Look fwd to hearing everyone's input, im sure ill be browsing and searching the site for a while educating myself on the 6.7
