My truck has 92k on it now and cooler and other EGR components have been in place the while time.
Never caused any trouble once tuning was installed.

If you don't mind me asking, how many miles were on the truck before it was tuned?
The cooler is a hassle to remove. So I guess there is no need to worry about the exhaust buildup that's already in the intake? I'd love to leave it in place if there is really no need to be concerned.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
I guess the other option is to just remove the EGR valve, intake and grid heater for cleaning then replace.
I guess it should stay clean after that with the valve disabled.
Thanks again,

I bought my truck new and it was deleted and tuned right after its first oil change at 5,500 miles. Not a minutes trouble since except for a failed water pump at 55k which was replaced under warranty.

About 4,000 miles I never did a relearn on the trans.
DRD comes with trans program and it runs great and about 8,000 miles now.

I did mine at 31k.
Truck was bought used.
I have put about 4k on it since deleting and not one issue.
Truck runs great.
I can get between 18-20 MPG running highway at 65mph not pulling.
See my signature for truck info.
Not bad for dully with 4.10

Just an update: EGT sensor still working great no real difference in temp range other then being a little elevated due to summer heat.

I did same thing with EGT.
Installed in down pipe. Welded a nut on pipe to give it more of a grip vs tapping the thin pipe wall.
55k miles on it and not a problem so far.
Wasn’t sure with it being double walled but went for it anyway.
Figured if it didn’t work I could always stick a bolt in it to plug it up.
Not sure how accurate it is. Never seen above 1100 on the temp yet so it makes me wonder
