question about p0049 turbine over speed

I got this code p0049 last weekend while racing my truck is mostly stock besides couple engine mods still on stock turbo. what exactly does turbine over speed mean and how does it happen. I have a hardway stage 1 compound kit waiting to be installed but can I trust the stock turbo with it

There are certain parameters that the stock turbo sees and what not and you more then likely pushed it past the limit and you got that code. It should be fine but if done multiple times you will likely destroy the turbo. What kind of PSI did you see when racing?

It definitely could be a number of things such as, solenoid valve, wastegate, wiring and possibly the sensors.

not sure what happened with that the jake brake on the freeway makes a squealing sound while doing 70 but at 50 mph it’s fine but no codes are being thrown I rarely use the brake
