New turbo, lots of lag.

Talked to a recommended source for a turbo, was directed to a s300 66/74 HTT turbo. The truck is a 2011 6.7 3500 deleted with 120k. No extra fuel just what seems like a minor tune by the previous owner.

After getting the turbo installed today and driving off, the truck feels extremely sluggish atleast compared to what it was.

This truck is a daily driver, rarely hauling anything and I was hoping to get as close to the same power that I had keeping a quick spool.

I have not gotten the chance to drive it much due to having a broken H&S mini max and not sure if I am going to cause damage without retuning.

No codes or lights on the dash so I'm not sure how it was set up.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Is this turbo way too big? Need tuning?

A little 66 in a 300 housing shouldn't be sluggish at all

Talking to the seller today after the install and initial drive they said it is quite a bit bigger than stock and was going to be laggier.

It at the moment is not what I was expecting, louder and sluggish, could it be something else. Would a tune help?

I was recommend EFI live with edge insite. Is there any other options? Would this make a difference?

I'm spooling a 71 mm almost as good as stock. What tune are you running

You need a better tune and one that has low boost fuel to get the turbo spooled

Anytime you make a modification such as turbo, getting your tunes revised is key to keeping your truck performing at it's best.

I'm not exactly sure what the tune is. It came with an H&S mini maxx when i bought it. Installed the new turbo with no VGT and no lights or code came up that's all i know.

In the process or ordering efi live is there anything specific I should be asking for?
