    Threw a code - Turbo P00AF

Hi all I just picked up a 2014 Ram 3500 w/ 115k on it. Been driving it around without any issues. About a week after I bought it the scary engine light kicked on. Got it read and got a series of codes:

    P00AF - Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control “A” Module Performance

    U010C - Lost Communication With Turbocharger/Supercharger Control Module “A”

P003A - Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control “A” Position Exceeded Learning Limit

Any ideas on what this might be other than the turbo itself?

Alot of folks that have these type codes it could possibly be the actuator. How is your acceleration? Is it sluggish at all?

It does feel a tiny bit sluggish going from 1st to second. And no the exhaust break doesn’t. Definitely the actuator. From what I’m told you might as well replace the turbo for the same price as the actuator? If this is true, what turbos do you guys recommend? The guy at DK Diesel in WA told me new oem turbos have been revised and fixed so the actuator doesn’t fail again. Maybe go with second gen swap?

Just replace the actuator its alot cheaper the the whole turbo and with that low of mileage the turbo has alot of life left
