Just an update of the truck. I’m still very happy about the gear change! Truck drives much better from starting up and my MPG has increased around 0.5-1mpg.

Hey guys I'm new but I figured I'd share my experience with 37 " tires , bought the truck 3 months ago it has a 5" or 6" lift with 37x12.5x20 wheels, 342 gears from what the window sticker says I found in the glove box. Transmission was built not sure by who but the first 2 months I owned it and bam needed a tranny rebuild. So i had it rebuilt and took the 37's off and went to a 33x11.5x20 and that is way better got a 2.5 mpg increase so far and my transmission is thanking me.

That’s why I decided to change the gears. Much cheaper then a transmission rebuild!

    3.42 Gears with 37" Tires

    Another update:

I drove round trip 250ish miles today interstate mostly around 75. Truck drove great with lots of power from 6st gear. Never had to downshift and kept within 1 mph. Passing someone was strong with little effort!! MPG did go down though. I only averaged around 18.5 which is 2-3 less than before the gear change

Truck is at the shop today getting the 4.10s installed. Can't wait to get it back tomorrow night.

Is there a place in the MM3 to change the gear ratio so the tire size selections are correct for adjusting the speedo?

Hey friend, I'm doing the same thing.

Truck goes in tomorrow for 4.10's.

My tuner said I can go into abs update and do this. Not sure if it's his tuning or MM3.

Was told by others the tuner had to send a new tune.

Didn't check it out yet but will after install.

    Best of luck.

I'm running the mm3 with tuning from DRD. I'll have to dig through the program when i get the truck back to see if i can find it unless somebody with the same setup can point me in the right direction.

It's been awhile since I've been through the menus, but IIRC, only tire size exists in the ABS menu and its for speedo calibration. I think regear needs to be wrote into the actual transmission tuning. Again, I may be way off base here.

When I changed from 33” to 37” tires I went into my mm3 and just adjusted it there. That got my speedo right. Nothing is needed if you change gears, from what I understand. My speedo is still right when I went to 4.10s
