    Keep us posted.

I would like to see if the AlphaOBD tool can indeed calibrate the actuator correctly.

I did a new turbo, but if problems arose again I would like the cheaper option of replacing actuator only.

OK...have not had a code for the past three days. Still have not had time to install the new actuator. Drove 80 miles on the freeway last night and put it away. Went and started it up this morning and went down the driveway, turned up the street and no turbo boost. Feels like it is in limp mode. made it up the driveway but just barely. NOT A CODE INSIGHT. No U010C, nothing just no power. S**T!

What happens if you turn your exhaust brake on? That will tell you a few things.

I turned on the boost indicator and it said 0 psi.

I could not go fast enough to get the EB to operate.

I could only go about 3MPH.

    Engine would not rev.

It's the EB which is on 100%.

I can hear the engine like its being muffled.

    OK...HELP....
I got the old actuator off and plugged in the Brand New not rebuilt actuator. Hooked up the OBDLink and AlphaOBD running on Android. Got to the turbo initialization and pressed Start.
Failed. Conditions not correct or Request sequence error.

    Now what?

    Found the problem...!!!
There was a P0003A code that required clearing and then the whole process went perfectly. Back on the road with a new actuator.
Thanks AlphaOBD for saving me $3000.

P003A is the faulty actuator code I believe and that code usually gets stored so that makes sense. I just put on a new turbo and the truck wasn’t running correctly until I cleared that stored code. Glad to hear the alpha tool worked! That’s next for me if I ever run into another bar actuator. Hopefully not!

Glad you got it figured out!

The braised on L bracket for the sliding vane broke off and fell to the bottom of the valute on my VGT. I replaced it with a new non VGT turbo and an in line exhaust brake, it actually works better than factory, BD sells a complete kit.
