Hello everyone, I have a 1996 2500 with 170000 miles. I love this truck. Small things are starting to go bad more often but I suppose after 23 years it is to be expected.
I have a current problem with the brake lights. I have parking lights but not brake or flashers. Any advise on where to start chasing this down are greatly appreciated.
    So thank you in advance.

If the truck runs double figment bulbs I'd start there. Next would be the flashers and brake switch and grounds, grounds are very important. My $.02 worth.

If one bulb is bad would it cause both to not work?

    to the forum @Big Jim

One filament should't effect the others, but check everything. Filaments, sockets, wiring for frays ... 2 decades in use and sitting in there can effect lots

I am by no means an electrical guru and i also hate electrical LOL. The slightest thing like a ground can affect a ton which is quite amazing. Even a slightly loose battery connection can make your head spin. I would start from the bulb and work my way back trying to figure it out. There are quite a few wiring diagrams floating around that you should be able to use to help you out as well.

Thank you for the comments. I had a little luck come my way, it turns out was just extremely dirty connections. I pulled the bulbs cleaned the connections and everything is operating as expected. Go figure!
I think I'll go buy a lottery ticket.....
