In looking closer at the Banks version, it looks like it will have a drain plug, fill plug with a sight glass, and a temp probe port. Not sure when that will actually be available though, they only have a prototype currently. The OEM HD version does not have a drain plug.

I’d go with banks. Gale banks has a great video on diff covers and if aftermarket is batter than stock. A lot of after marker changes the gear fluid flow for the worst instead of the best. He goes into great detail and testing and even runs a clear composit cover you can find it on you tube!

We can't go with Banks until they release a product for sale.

If your seeing high temps you’ll want to do something if not I’d wait for the release of the banks. Or look for someone that removed their factory aluminum finned cover. He does another great video on flat backed covers and does wind testes on the and shows they actually do worse than factory.

Yeah I watched all the banks videos a few months ago. Definitely seems like interesting research. I’m sure their covers will be very well performing and PRICEY. I’m really just looking for a good, reasonably priced cover that has a drain plug. I tow a lot and change my fluid every 15k... getting tired of not having a drain plug. It’s a work truck and I’ll be sticking with stockish power so I think aside from the lack of availability the banks may be a bit overkill for me. The Mag-hytec ones seem to be a happy medium.
