    My Dodge Addiction Starter!

Thought I would share the start of my RAM addiction!

I love this truck! It was the first real truck I ever bought! It's a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport 4x4 with the beastly 360! The previous owner took pretty good care of it when I got it. Hardly any rust which is unheard of here in the north. I washed and cleaned her religiously and kept her super clean! But this beauty had many hidden secrets under her clean red coat. After having had her about a year I learned she wasn't all stock. Apparently at one point or another she had been wrecked and probably near totaled. Her rear end wasn't factory but a jasper rebuilt. The doors didn't line up right and rubbed off the pain and she had been painted over to look clean and fresh. So soon after I found all that out then came the cancer!! All the normal sport got it first and all the replacement parts were the first to go. Still loved her to keep it running good. I still have her and she is now becoming my mudtruck, playtoy, tug-a-truck! I can't bring myself to get rid of her.

    Here she is all stock:

    I took her to this:

Yea that was discouraging at first. I took it to my buddy that works at a body shop and he started pointing out all the spots. But what was even more frustrating was that there was no report to carfax for it!! But still runs great and I built it to be a 3/4 ton before I bought the Cummins.

Here she is towing the Ex's 32' travel trailer. Also towed a u-haul 2k miles from my home town to Dallas Texas and then drove it back. I am very proud of this truck!

The cummins even made the Dallas trip this year.

    That was a nice setup!

Carfax I believe is a rip off.

Thanks! Had 1500lb load springs in the rear along with class E tires. That pic is without the weight bars. With the weight bars it's level. But the trailer is about 10k-11k total.
I'd agree with ya on carfax. So this time I used the perks of having an insurance agent as a mother tehe. We can run an ALH or auto loss history report. Essentially the same thing except it has the records of all accidents reported.

Honestly I got lucky. That truck is almost 100% stock. Trans and all. All done to it is a drop in K&N filter and superchips 3715. Thats the only power adders. Has 168k on the clock.

LOL maybe so but she has been good to me. Think in about hitting up the off road park Saturday If I can get some others to go with me in case I get stuck.
