On the 6.7 i am not sure on the 5.9 you can replace just the filter element inside the canister

I just read in I think diesel power that they're making stainless steel ones and you never have to buy another one again

I have a 2008 6.7 and I change mine every 10,000 miles. They make a retro fit kit so it is more user friendly and you can change it yourself. I think it was about $150 from the dealier. You are also able to use a cheaper filter that has the same micron rating. Just a thought.

    Re: fuel filter

I change mine every 10k. Once it has the updated canister it is as simple as swaping the filter. Its easier to change it if you pull the plastic inner fender
