Please help, 24 Valve The Dreaded 53 block.

    Hey Everyone.

Need some help here. I just bought a 2000 2nd gen with 270,000 miles on it for a work truck so I don't use mine dually for light towing and work. I thought I got it cheap at $4000.00. I had the trans rebuilt and beefed up with a triple disc and all heavy duty parts because I am thinking that with the Cummins I would have an engine for a lot more miles and have experience with the Chrysler transmissions. The block doesn't seem to be cracked yet. My question is if it hasn't cracked after 270,000 miles, should I assume it's going to be ok?

The truck was used for heavy towing and didn't crack. Most are telling me to get rid of it at any loss because it will fail.

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks!

The 5.9L engines are work horses and you stole that truck for that price!
