What is this in rear leaf pack?

I feel like this is a stupid question but what is this T looking thing at an angle. And how can it be removed? I have traction bar mounts that need to countour the bottom of the leaf bracket and it’s in the way.

Also it looks like there is a welded nut with the bolt going through the leaf pack. Would I be okay using a jack to hold the leafs in place to momentarily remove bolt to put it through other side of bracket?

traction bars are tough country EZ ride for truck in sig
    Thanks!

I’ve often wondered the same thing also. Hopefully someone will know what the use of that thing is.

It literally just holds the nut so you only need one wrench to tighten the bolt...

Ill cut it then. I am most afraid of removing the bolt and not being able to get it back in

The track bar has one too...saves you from having to use a wrench.

It is a blind nut, usually used when area in not accessible by a wrench.

Saves from getting 20MM wrenches stolen all day. LOL

LITERALLY! It's just a production thing. I have them on my rear shocks too.

If you want to reverse the bolt, you can as long as it fits. You'll pay hell getting another washer nut like that otherwise. You can't beat them
