It’s time to get new boots so curious on which route to go. The 235s are OEM but I kinda want to go a little wider but the 245s are a tad bit shorter. I tow heavy 90% of the time so what do you guys think?

What's the stock size? I'm not one for mods like that because they look cool. Looking cool tends to bite you in the arse later. That and they HAVE to be load range E. This isn't a 1500 which is kinda like nobody cares

Not looking for the “cool” factor just wanting more contact on the floor. And yes 3500s are 10ply

Forgive me. I see this stuff all the time.
Your response was level headed. Thanks. I thought the tire size on the 3500 was larger?
What's the height diff between the two sizes and stock, if different? I gather you're asking about the width clearance.
I'm not a big one for lifts either. Whenever anyone posts about a lift, the forum runs and hides. LOL Allota arses have been burned with lifts.

Ha ha no worries brother. The 265s are and an inch wider than stock. The 245s are about half an inch wider and surprisingly they are both a little shorter than stock

I'm assumeing you have a dually if 235/80r17 is factory. You are right with 235s being taller than a 245/75r17 but a little skinner. If you have a dually than 265s will rub if you have no spacer between the rears. But are very close in hight to the 235s but about an inch wider. I hope this helps some.
Good point. I didn't think dually. But I'm better with the 3rd gens anyway. That's why I always want all the info on the truck in the first question. Shame on me for assuming.

In the same boat. Discount Tire told me I couldn’t go taller or wider without different rim. IDK

Not many choices on sizes at all. I’m debating on going with 19.5s. In the mean time I’m just gonna get another set of Nexens. I’ve gotten 45k miles out of my originals so far. My rears are at 5/32s and my steers are 7/32s. So hopefully can get another 2-5k out of them. So next round I’ll look into running 19.5s then I could get a 12 or 14 ply tire
