2015 3500 DEF Usage

I have a 2015 Ram 3500 that has 11,000 miles. Recently drove it about 800 miles pulling 8 ton load and it used 3.5 gal of DEF and got less than 8 mpg on fuel. This is the worst mileage I've gotten and it's never used that much DEF? Other than that it performed as t should.

I need to delete it but until I can afford it does this seem normal or is there something wrong?

Any help will e appreciated?

Loaded will use more DEF than unloaded, not sure why, but it does. 800 miles on 3.5 gallon? That sounds like a lot.... Our 5500 series, with a 22K lbs trailer does ohio and back, (1100 miles) on about 2.5 gallons. My ram 2500, even when I do a lot of towing (4 to 6 ton trailer loaded weight) I don't burn much more than 2.5 gallon every 1500 miles. I have EGR-less tuning so I will in theory use more on the 2500 series truck. the 5500 is bone stock, besides the flatbed. Was a C+C.
