    The yellow glue sounds like 3M weather strip adhesive. Chances are the previous owner got the badge off and tried using a heat gun to remove the original black foam adhesive causing the paint to ripple like that. I remove decals from trucks at work with a heat gun and you have to be really careful or that can happen.

    That was from applying badge right after paint at the factory with no cure time... Never understood the de-Badge thing

    I had some folks come out today and fix that area. They stated exactly what you said. It looked to them like the doors had been painted and they likely applied the badges immediately. Truck has a clean title and was a certified preowned but I guess its common to have this done by dealers if there are some scratches instead of chipstick?

    Step one done today without doing the whole door. They say it will match perfectly after some buffing which I will have done in the upcoming weeks - true before and current pic attached.

    i am still skeptical but I am far from a paint expert. Push comes to shove I’ll have the door done...fingers crossed I can save my money for other mods
